Lewknor, Weston Road

Prohibition of Through Traffic

Date of Order: 13 July 2026

Coming into force: 20 July 2026

This Order is being introduced because of Thames Water pressure valve installation which is anticipated to be completed on 31 July 2026. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in part of Weston Road. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic will be signed locally. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. Abingdon, Kysbie Close

Date of Order: 20 April 2026

Works commence: 3 August 2026

This Order was introduced for a road closure for electrical maintenance work which is now anticipated to be complete 9 October (the original start was delayed from April). The effect of the Order is to close temporarily a section of Kysbie Close between Nos.15 and 44. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services. There is no diversion for this closure as the closure is on a dead end. Grove, Windrush Close

Coming into force: 20 July 2026

This Order is being introduced because of SSEN electrical maintenance works which are anticipated to be completed 21 August 2026. This is a 24 hour daily road closure. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in that part of Windrush Closure between Nos. 1 and 14. Exemptions are included for emergency vehicles, the Works and for access to property. Access will be maintained for cyclists and pedestrians. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T17694/RMF)

Prohibition of Through Traffic

Date of Order: 27 July 2026

Coming into force: 1 August 2026

This Order is being introduced because of surface dressing works which is anticipated to take up to 6 months to be completed working 24hrs each day. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit vehicles and public using the Footpath 196/7/20 from Main Street, East Challow to the junction with Public Footpath 391/35/20 just before Stockham Bridge. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. An alternative route is via Public Footpath 196/5/10 off Canal Way, East Challow, pavement alongside Challow Road via Hamilton Drive, then follow Winchester Way to Stockham Way to reach Public Footpath 391/35/20 and Stockham Bridge. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 6 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T18144/MR)

Wantage, Denchworth Road/Simmonds Walk

Prohibition of Through Traffic & Footpath Closure

Date of Order: 13 July 2026

Coming into force: 22 July 2026

This Order is being introduced because of essential gas main replacement works which are anticipated to be completed 1 September 2026. This is a 24 hour daily closure. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in the length of Denchworth Road from outside Fitzwaryn School to the junction with St Marys Way, and closure of the footpath from beside No.40 Denchworth Road eastwards into the junction with Tinkerbush Lane and towards Witan Way. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. Access will be maintained for cyclists and pedestrians only for Denchworth Road. Simmonds Walk there is no pedestrian access. The alternative route for traffic will be signed locally. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 6 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T18231/AC)

Wallingford, St George Road

Prohibition of Vehicles

Date of Order: 13 July 2026

Coming into force: 21 July 2026

This Order is being introduced because of resurfacing works which is anticipated to take 5 nights (weekdays only from 20:00 to 06:00hrs) to be completed. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit vehicles proceeding in St George Road between the junctions with Millington Road and Wigod Way and St Georges Green Loop in its entirety. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic around the road closure is as follows: Traffic wishing to access Wilding Road will be diverted west along Station Road, turn up St Nicholas Road returning back to the northern end of St Georges Rd/Wilding Road, and vice versa.

Traffic wishing to access Blackstone Road, will be diverted east along Station Road/High Street, to turn north along Castle Street, to turn west into Norries Drive, returning to Blackstone Road, and vice versa. Access to Clapcot Way will be maintained via St Nicholas Road only. The presence of No Waiting cones means that Waiting/Parking will not be permitted. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T18014/MR)

The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit vehicles proceeding in that section of Woodgate Close east of Broadmarsh Close. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. This Order is being introduced because of sewer repair work which is anticipated to take 2 weeks to be completed. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit vehicles proceeding in the section of Eynsham Road at its junction with Rose Gardens. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic is via a combination of the B4044 – A420 and vice versa. Nature of Restriction: Road Closure

Period of Restriction: Night Time Only

Location: Hill Road And Spring Lane, Watlington

Reason: Road closure to facilitate remedial works. Hill Road, between the junction with B4009 Couching Street and the access at the Chiltern Surgery/Watlington Care Hospital. Spring Lane, between the junction with Hill Road and the junction with B480 Ingham Lane.

Duration: Starting on 28/09/2026 20:00

The anticipated completion date is 29/09/2026 06:00 (inclusive).

Description of Works: Gas replacement works on behalf of SOUTHERN GAS NETWORKS PLC.

The anticipated completion date is 30/10/2026 23:59 (inclusive).

Access: Access will be maintained for emergency service vehicles and for properties within the closed section of road where reasonably practicable.
