THE DERBYSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (ALFRETON, VARIOUS STREETS) (WAITING RESTRICTIONS) TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026
Notice is hereby given that, on the 9th of July 2026 Derbyshire County Council made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The Order will come into operation on the 20th of July 2026 and its effect is:
1. TO PROHIBIT WAITING AT ANY TIME ON PARTS OF THE FOLLOWING LENGTHS OF ROAD:
Arthur Street, Beech Avenue, Cedar Avenue, Charles Street, Firs Avenue, High Street, Limes Avenue, Mansfield Road, Preston Avenue, Rowland Street, School Access Road (from its junction with Grange Street) and Wilson Street, Alfreton.
2. TO RESTRICT WAITING MONDAY TO SATURDAY, 8AM TO 6PM ON THE FOLLOWING LENGTHS OF ROAD:
Limes Avenue and Mansfield Road, Alfreton.
3. TO RESTRICT WAITING MONDAY TO SATURDAY, 8AM TO 9.15AM AND 4.30PM TO 7PM ON THE FOLLOWING LENGTH OF ROAD:
Mansfield Road, Alfreton
South side
From its junction with Prospect Street in a westerly direction to a point 12 metres east of its junction with Wilson Street.
4. TO RESTRICT WAITING MONDAY TO SATURDAY, 8AM TO 6PM ON THE FOLLOWING LENGTH OF ROAD:
Mansfield Road, Alfreton
South side
From a point 10 metres west of its junction with Wilson Street for a distance of 60 metres.
Exemptions will be made for vehicles used in connection with any building operation or demolition; removal of any obstruction to traffic; carrying out of statutory powers or as part of a funeral or wedding cortege. The usual exemptions for disabled persons’ vehicles displaying a valid disabled person’s badge will also apply.
5. TO INTRODUCE A DISABLED PERSON’S VEHICLE PARKING PLACE ON THE FOLLOWING LENGTH OF ROAD:
King Street, Alfreton
West side
From a point 1.5 metres south of its junction with High Street in a southerly direction, for a distance of 4.5 metres.
Any permanent Traffic Regulation Orders made prior to this Order, insofar as they relate to the lengths of road listed above, will be revoked. The opportunity has been taken to make some administrative changes to the descriptions of the existing prohibitions and restrictions, along the roads listed above. This does not change the restriction type, nor it’s extents this administrative exercise is to make the item descriptions clearer to understand and to locate on the ground.

quoting reference Z3451, until 6 weeks after the Order is made until 20th of August 2026. Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Order, or any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of The Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the ground that a requirement of that Act or any relevant regulation made under it has not been complied with may, within 6 weeks from the 9th of July 2026 make application for the purpose to the High Court.
