Temporary Orders

Cornwall Council

Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (RTRA 1984)

Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that Cornwall Council has made the above Order dated 10th July 2026 in exercise of its powers under section 14(1) of the RTRA 1984 to prohibit the use by traffic over an area of highway being Footpath 8 in the Parish of Treverbyn between grid references SX 01031 57120 and SX 00378 56381. The Council is satisfied that the Order is needed because of the likelihood of danger to the public as the walked route runs through an active industrial estate and a busy industrial haulage road.

The Order will come into operation on 11th July 2026 and the works are expected to be completed by the 11th January 2027. The prohibition will be in force 24 hours a day, weekends included. The road was previously closed for reasons of public safety by notice under Section 14(2) of the RTRA 1984 from the 20th June 2026 for a period of up to 21 days.

Nothing in this Order will apply to traffic associated with the works required within the highway specified above, any vehicle being used for the purposes of an undertaker in an emergency, such as loss of utility supplies and anything done with the permission of or at the discretion of a police officer.

An alternative route will be signed on site, however, for further information please go to https://one.network/?tm=GB150627125 or contact Donald Martin. Cornwall Council. Tel: 0300 1234 202.
