What is happening?

FOOTPATH 94A BLACKBURN

TEMPORARY FOOTPATH CLOSURE ORDER 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that the Secretary of State for Transport in pursuance of the power conferred by section 15 (5) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 has approved of the continuing in force of the Order made and effective on 15th January 2026. As the works have not been completed the Secretary of State for Transport granted an extension of the Order until 15th July 2027 or until completion of the works, whichever is the earlier.

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any persons from using the Bridleway referred to in the Schedule below due to works being carried out on the line of the right of way. The alternative routes available (if any) are referred to in the Schedule below.

The paths will be closed in the interest of public safety.

Footpath 94A Blackburn Footpath 94A Blackburn on Haslingden Road at SD 70715 25690 marked A, in a south westerly direction along Spinning Avenue and crossing the A6077. On the western side of the A6077 the footpath turns in a southerly direction and then in a westerly direction, running along Premier Way to SD 70346 25547 marked B. At this point the footpath joins Bridleway 166 Blackburn. The total Length of the path to be temporarily closed is approximately 554m.
There is no alternative route in place during the closure of this footpath. This is shown with a solid bold line.
