The above Order, made on 8th July 2026 under section 26 of the Highways Act 1980, will create Public Footpath No.22, Fenstanton starting at OSGR TL: 3193 6767 at its junction with Conington Road, Fenstanton. Then proceeding in a south-south-easterly direction for approximately 2 metres to OSGR TL: 3193 6766. Then proceeding in a west-south-westerly curving round to a west-north-westerly direction for approximately 139 metres to OSGR TL: 3179 6766 where it terminates at its junction with Conington Road, Fenstanton (public road).
A copy of the Order and the Order Map have been placed and may be seen free of charge at the offices of Huntingdonshire District Council, Pathfinder House, St Mary’s Street, Huntingdon PE29 3TN and of the undersigned, during normal office hours. Copies of the Order and Map may be bought at the latter at the price of £19.20. NOTICE OF MAKING OF AN ORDER HIGHWAYS ACT 1980
Cambridgeshire County Council has made Concurrent Orders on 8th July 2026 under sections 26 and 118 of the Highways Act 1980 to reorganise the Public Rights of Way in the parish of Conington. The effect of the Orders are detailed below:
(Public Footpath No.2, Conington) Public Path Extinguishment Order 2026
The above Order, made under section 118 of the Highways Act 1980, will extinguish Public Footpath No.2, Conington from OSGR TL: 3250 6682 on New Barns Lane, Conington proceeding in a north-easterly direction for approximately 896 metres to OSGR TL: 3306 6750 where it terminates at its junction with the A1307.
(Public Footpath No.5, Conington) Public Path Creation Order 2026
The above Order, made under section 26 of the Highways Act 1980, will create Public Footpath No.5, Conington from OSGR TL: 3257 6684 at its junction with New Barns Lane, Conington. Then proceeding in a northerly direction for approximately 7 metres to OSGR TL: 3257 6685. Then proceeding in an east-south-easterly direction following the field edge for approximately 378 metres to OSGR TL: 3294 6677. Then curving round to a north-easterly direction for approximately 217 metres to OSGR TL: 3308 6693. Then proceeding in a south-easterly direction for approximately 7 metres to OSGR TL: 3309 6693 where the path crosses over a ditch via a culvert. Then continuing in a south easterly direction for approximately 2 metres to OSGR TL: 3309 6692 where it terminates at its junction with New Barns Lane, Conington (public road).

The above Order, made on 8th July 2026 under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980, will divert Public Footpath No. 11, Abbotsley from its current line, starting at a junction with Potton Road (public road)) at OSGR TL: 1981 5752 and proceeding south-east, passing through industrial buildings, a residential garden and field for approximately 242 metres, to OSGR TL: 2001 5738. Continuing in an east-south-east direction for approximately 207 metres to OSGR TL: 2020 5731, to a new line starting at OSGR TL: 1982 5753 at its junction with Potton Road and proceeding in a generally east-south-east direction for approximately 85 metres to a point at OSGR TL: 1991 5751. Then in a south-east direction for approximately 48 metres to a point at OSGR TL: 1995 5748. Then in an east south-east direction for approximately 337 metres to a point at OSGR TL: 20279 57407. Then in a south-west direction for approximately 9 metres to a point at OSGR TL: 20273 57400. Then continuing in the same direction for approximately 112 metres to a point at OSGR TL: 2020 5731.
