Temporary Traffic Management Order - (Gainsborough Road, Dagenham) (Temporary Prohibition Of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2026

Notice Of Intent

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in order to facilitate sewer cover and frame replacement in the carriageway; The London Borough of Barking and Dagenham intend to make a Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

2. The order is expected to come in to effect on Monday 3 August 2026. The works expected for:
- Sewer cover and frame replacement in the carriageway, to take 1 day to complete. Completion date estimated as Monday 3 August 2026 with the work expected to be undertaken between the hours of 9:30am and 2:30pm.

However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be re-introduced should further works be required.

3. When the works are taking place and the appropriate traffic signs are being displayed the Order will temporarily: -
- Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Gainsborough Road, both sides, from its junction with Stevens Road for a distance of 33 metres in a south-westerly direction.

- Suspend the Resident Permit Holders Only Zone CH Mon-Fri 8:30am – 5:30pm bays on Gainsborough Road, both sides, from a point 9 metres south-west of its junction with Stevens Road for 17 metres in a south-westerly direction.

4. Alternative routes for Vehicular traffic will be maintained and signed:
- Via Mayesbrook Road, Becontree Avenue, Waldegrave Road, Stevens Road and Vice Versa.
