Dagenham - Multiple Temporary Road Closures Due To Bellmouth Treatment For School Streets

Temporary Traffic Management Order – (School Streets, Dagenham) (Temporary Prohibition Of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2026

Notice Of Intent

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in order to facilitate Bellmouth treatment for school streets; The London Borough of Barking and Dagenham intend to make a Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

2. The order is expected to come in to effect on Monday 3 August 2026.

The works expected for:
- Bellmouth treatment for school streets to take 25 days to complete.

Completion date estimated as Thursday 27 August 2026 with the work expected to be undertaken in 13 phases listed in Article 3 between 8:00am and 6:00pm.

However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be re-introduced should further works be required.

3. When the works are taking place and the appropriate traffic signs are being displayed the Order will temporarily:
Phase 1 (3 August 2026 – 3 August 2026)
Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Finnymore Road, both sides, from its junction with Hatfield Road for 11 metres in an easterly direction.

Phase 2 (4 August 2026 – 4 August 2026)
Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Finnymore Road, both sides, from its junction with Cartwright Road for 14 metres in a westerly direction.

Phase 3 (5 August 2026 – 5 August 2026)
Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Hatfield Road, both sides, from its junction with Lullington Road for 12.5 metres in a south-easterly direction.

Phase 4 (6 August 2026 – 6 August 2026)
Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Hatfield Road, both sides, from its junction with Cartwright Road for 10.5 metres in a north-westerly direction.

Phase 5 (7 August 2026 – 7 August 2026)
Prohibit all vehicular traffic on the partial closure on Scholars Way, east side, from its junction with Longbridge Road for 4 metres in a southerly direction.

Phase 6 (10 August 2026 – 10 August 2026)
Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Campus Avenue, both sides, from its junction with Fellowship Close for 9 metres in an easterly direction.

Phase 7 (11 August 2026 – 12 August 2026)
Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Scholars Way, both sides, from a point 2 metres north of the extended common boundary of Nos. 1 and 3 Scholars Way for 8.8 metres in a southerly direction.

Phase 8 (13 August 2026 – 14 August 2026)
Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Ford Road, both sides, from its junction with Downing Road for 7.2 metres in a south-easterly direction.

Phase 9 (17 August 2026 – 18 August 2026)
Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Ford Road, both sides, from its junction with Comyns Road for 11.3 metres in a westerly direction.

Phase 10 (19 August 2026 – 19 August 2026)
Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Rowdowns Road, both sides, from its junction with Arnold Road for 10 metres in a north-easterly direction.

Phase 11 (20 August 2026 – 20 August 2026)
Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Bonham Road, both sides, from its junction with Becontree Avenue for 9.7 metres in a southerly direction.

Phase 12 (24 August 2026 – 25 August 2026)
Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Bonham Road, both sides, from its junction with Valence Wood Road for 8 metres in a northerly direction.

Phase 13 (26 August 2026 – 27 August 2026)
Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Henshawe Road, both sides, from its junction with Valence Wood Road for 4.6 metres in a northerly direction.

4. Alternative routes for Vehicular traffic will be maintained and signed:
For Phase 1 via Hatfield Road, Hedgemans Road, Cartwright Road and Vice Versa.
For Phase 2 via Cartwright Road, Hedgemans Road, Hatfield Road and Vice Versa.
For Phase 3 via Hatfield Road, Finnymore Road, Cartwright Road and Vice Versa.
For Phase 4 via Cartwright Road, Finnymore Road, Hatfield Road and Vice Versa.
For Phase 6 via Fellowship Close, Academy Way, Scholars Way and Vice Versa.
For Phase 7 via Campus Avenue, Fellowship Close, Academy Way and Vice Versa.
For Phase 8 via Ford Road, Heathway, Downing Road and Vice Versa.
For Phase 9 via Heathway, Downing Road, Ford Road and Vice Versa.
For Phase 10 via Arnold Road, Heathway, Ford Road and Vice Versa.
For Phase 11 via Becontree Avenue, Grafton Road, Valence Wood Road and Vice Versa.
For Phase 12 via Valence Wood Road, Henshawe Road, Margery Road and Vice Versa.
For Phase 13 via Margery Road, Bonham Road, Valence Wood Road and Vice Versa.
