Notice Of Intent
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in order to facilitate sewer rehabilitation works, The London Borough of Barking and Dagenham intend to make a Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
2. The order is expected to come in to effect on Monday 3 August 2026. The works expected for:
• Sewer rehabilitation works, to take 5 days to complete. Completion date estimated as Friday 7 August 2026 with the work expected to be undertaken between the hours of 8:00am on Monday 3 August 2026 and 8:00pm on Friday 7 August 2026.
However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be re-introduced should further works be required.
3. When the works are taking place and the appropriate traffic signs are being displayed the Order will temporarily: -
• Prohibit all vehicular traffic (Except for Marshalled Access for residents) on Oval Road North, both sides, from a point in line with the extended common boundary of Nos. 214 and 216 Oval Road North to its junction with Oval Road South.
• Prohibit all vehicular traffic (Except for Marshalled Access for residents) on Oval Road South, both sides, from its junction with Oval Road North to a point in line with the eastern building line of No. 89 Oval Road South.
• Prohibit all vehicular traffic (Except for Marshalled Access for residents) on Beam Avenue, both sides, from its junction with Oval Road North for 8.8 metres in a north-westerly direction.
• Prohibit all vehicular traffic (Except for access) on Oval Road North, both sides, from a point in line with the extended common boundary of Nos. 214 and 216 Oval Road North to its junction with Centre Road.
• Prohibit all vehicular traffic (Except for access) on Oval Road South, both sides, from its junction with Third Avenue to a point in line with the eastern building line of No. 89 Oval Road South.
4. Alternative routes for Vehicular traffic will be maintained and signed:
- Via Centre Road, Third Avenue and Vice Versa.
