Copeland - Multiple Temporary Traffic Restrictions Due To Utility Works
What is happening?
CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (A5094 LOWTHER STREET, WHITEHAVEN AND U4007 PARTON) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to:
1. Prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of the U4007 Parton, from its junction with Bank Yard Road, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 40m.
Duration: From 24 August 2026 for approx. 8 days (Ref. TTROC/J1932)
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times and a suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the unrestricted sections of the U4007, U4I14 and A595.
2. Prohibit any vehicle from waiting at any time, on any day and/or from loading and unloading, at any time, on any day (including blue badge holders) along that section of the A5094 Lowther Street, Whitehaven, (north east side) from a point adjacent to No. 67 Lowther Street, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 20m.
Duration: From 11 August 2026 for approx. 8 days (Ref. TTROC/J1918)

The Order will come into operation on 11 August 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
