Cumberland - Multiple Temporary Road Closures Due To Carriageway Repair Works
What is happening?
CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (U4202 NEWTOWN, FRIZINGTON, U4433 DENT VIEW, EGREMONT AND C4032 BRANSTY ROAD, BRANSTY) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable carriageway repair works to be carried out ("the Works"), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following sections of road:
1. U4202 Newtown Frizington from its junction with the U4194 Yeathouse Road, extending in a southerly direction for its entire length.
There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles.
Duration: From 3 August 2026 for approx. 5 days between 0800 and 1600 hours, each day (Ref: TTROC/18547)
2. U4433 Dent View, Egremont from its junction with the U4247, Briscoe Mount, extending in an overall north westerly direction for approx. 300m (roads fronting Nos. 96 to 77 Dent View and Nos.54 to 65 Dent View)
There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles.
Duration: From 3 August 2026 for approx. 5 days, between 0800 and 1600 hours, each day (Ref: TTROC/18423)
3. C4032 Bransty Road, Bransty from its junction with the A5094, New Road, extending in a northerly direction for approx. 1.5km to its junction with the A595.
Alternative Route: via the A595 Loop Road and A5094 New Road.
Duration: From 17 August 2026 for approx. 13 days (Ref: TTROC/19360)
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

The Order will come into operation on 3 August 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
