ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

(TEMPORARY FOOTPATH CLOSURE) ORDER 2026

HURWORTH FOOTPATH 4, DARLINGTON

Darlington Borough Council intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an Order under the provisions of Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily close:

HURWORTH FOOTPATH 4

From its junction with Hurworth Footpath 3 to its junction with Darlington Footpath 41

An alternative route will be signed on site.

The Order is necessary to allow Network Rail to risk assess a level crossing and carry out associated investigation works.

The maximum duration of the temporary closures under this Order is 6 months commencing from 23rd July 2026.
