What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC
PART OF BLAMIRE LANE, EVERINGHAM

Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire
Council intends not less than seven days from the
date of this notice to make an Order, the effect of
which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding
along part of Blamire Lane, Everingham between
the access to a property called The Oaks to Clarks
Common Farm commencing 3 August 2026 until 7
August 2026 between 08.00 hours until 18.00 hours
weekdays only for the purposes of excavation to
install approximately 120 metres of telecoms ducting
to link into the existing telecoms apparatus as part of
the larger fibre to the home scheme works. The road
closure is necessary to enable the works to be carried
out in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of
the public. The Order is valid for 18 months, but
it is anticipated that the works will be completed within
five days. The alternative route for traffic affected by
the road closure will be via Blamire Lane, Thorpe Le
Street Road, A1079 York Road and Everingham Lane,
Hayton CP, Bielby CP, Everingham CP, Wolds Weighton
Ward. The diversion route will be signed at the time of
closure. The road will be closed to all through traffic
but access will be maintained for residents, emergency
vehicles and pedestrians.
