(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH
TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
PART OF MIDDLE LANE, SKIRPENBECK
East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the
effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing
any vehicle to proceed/from proceeding along part of
Middle Lane, Skirpenbeck heading east from its junction
with Main Street then right onto Brickyards Lane,
Bugthorpe, right onto A166 Bridlington Road, Full
Sutton, right onto Dolegate, Skirpenbeck then right
onto Main Street, Skirpenbeck commencing 3 August
2026 at 08.00 hours until 7 August 2026 at 17.00
hours. The reason for the closure is to enable the
proposed works to install ducting and chambers for
the new BDUK fibre network on behalf of Quickline
Communications for part of Middle Lane, Skirpenbeck,
to be carried out and completed in a manner consistent
with ensuring the safety of the public. It is anticipated
that the works will be completed within five days.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the Order
is via east from its junction with Main Street then right
onto Brickyards Lane, Bughthorpe, right onto A166
Bridlington Road, Full Sutton, right onto Dolegate,
Skirpenbeck, then right onto Main Street, Skirpenbeck,
Bugthorpe CP, Full Sutton CP, Bishop Wilton CP,
Skirpenbeck CP, Wolds Weighton Ward.
The road will be closed to all through traffic but access
will be maintained for residents, emergency vehicles
and pedestrians. The Order will commence 3 August
2026 and continue in force for a period not exceeding
eighteen months or until the works which it is
proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever
is the earlier. Further information can be obtained from
