TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026

On 9 July 2026 South Tyneside Council made an Order under S.14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect will be to temporarily close to pedestrians sections of public footpath from grid ref NZ 3203 6252 at the land situated south of Wollaston Way, Hebburn and heads in a southerly direction for approximately 30m to the southern side of the rail crossing at grid ref NZ 3204 6249.

The Order will come into force on 15 July 2026. The maximum duration of the Order will be 6 months or until the works are completed, if this is sooner. The Order is required to ensure public safety on the level crossing.

An alternative route for pedestrians in relation to the footpath will be provided to the west of the existing footpath.
