What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC
THORPE LE STREET ROAD, EVERINGHAM

Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire
Council intends not less than seven days from the
date of this notice to make an Order, the effect of
which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding
along Thorpe Le Street Road, Everingham outside
Field House commencing 28 July 2026 until 31 July
2026 between 08.00 hours until 17.00 hours to
allow works to install a new water supply on behalf
of Yorkshire Water. The road closure is necessary
to enable the works to be carried out in a manner
consistent with ensuring the safety of the public.
The Order is valid for 18 months, but it is anticipated
that the works will be completed within four days.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the road
closure will be via Thorpe Le Street, Southfield Lane,
Bull Lane, Harswell Lane, A614 Market Weighton Road,
A614 Holme Road and A1079 York Road.
The diversion route will be signed at the time of
closure. The road will be closed to all traffic but access
will be maintained for emergency vehicles.
