What is happening?
NOTICE OF MAKING
NOTICE is hereby given that Crawley Borough Council, in exercise of its powers under Sections 32, 35 and 35C of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers, has made the following Order:
CRAWLEY BOROUGH COUNCIL (OFF-STREET PARKING PLACES) ORDER 2026
Date Made: 3 July 2026
Date of Commencement: 3 August 2026
The effect of the Order is:
1. The inclusion of a contravention where a vehicle is parked in a designated Electric vehicle (EV) bay and is not actively charging in all off-street car parks to which the order applies.
2. The inclusion of a contravention where a vehicle is parking in a bay reserved for employees where a valid permit is not displayed and/or where digital validation to consent the vehicle to be parked in that bay has not been given.
3. Renaming Orchard Street Multi Storey Car Park as High Street Multi Storey Car Park.
4. Renaming Orchard Street Surface Car Park as High Street Surface Car Park.
5. Renaming Fishermans Car Park as Lakeside Car Park.
6. Inclusion of Maidenbower, Broadfield Barton, K2 and Tilgate Yard Car Parks in the Council’s parking management (enforcement) arrangements. Including protecting blue badge bays and preventing parking out of the marked parking bays.
7. Implementing the following parking charges in Goffs Park Lower Car Park:

0-1 hours - £1.50
1-2 hours - £3.00
2-3 hours - £4.50
3-4 hours - £6.00
All Day - £7.00
A copy of the Order and supporting documents can be viewed at the Reception Desk at Crawley Borough Council, Town Hall, The Boulevard, Crawley, West Sussex, RH10 1UZ.
Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Order, or any of its provisions, on the grounds that:
it is not within the powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984; or any requirement of that Act or any Instrument made under it has not been complied with, may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order was made, apply to the High Court for that purpose.
