Rivington Road, Blackpool - Temporary Prohibition of Traffic

THE BOROUGH OF BLACKPOOL

(RIVINGTON ROAD)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Blackpool Borough Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers to carry out carriageway reconstruction and resurfacing. The effect of the Order will be to:

a.  Prohibit all vehicles from entering or proceeding in any direction along the length of Crawford Avenue which continues onto Rivington Road from Crawford Avenue’s junction with Devonshire Road to Rivington Roads eastly side of its junction with Norcliffe Road.

b.  Prohibit all vehicles from entering or proceeding in any direction along a section of Rivington Road from its junction with Montpelier Avenue with its westly side of its junction with Norcliffe Road.

c.  No left or right turn onto Crawford Avenue from its junction with Boston Avenue.

d.  No left or right turn onto Rivington Road from its junction with Salwick Avenue.

e.  No left or right turn onto Rivington Road from its junction with Everest Drive.

f.   No left or right turn onto Rivington Road from its junction with Tensing Avenue.

g.  No left or right turn onto Rivington Road from its junctions with Norcliffe Road.

Pedestrian access to premises will be maintained at all times.

Vehicular access will be maintained at all times.

All diversion routes will be clearly signed and maintained on site.

The proposed Order will commence on 03 August 2026 and continue in force for eighteen months or until the sooner completion of the aforesaid works. It is expected that the works will take 14 days.
