Main Road, Jacksdale And Palmerston Street - Temporary Prohibition Of Driving For Gas Mains Replacement Works

(MAIN ROAD, JACKSDALE AND PALMERSTON STREET, WESTWOOD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING AND WAITING, LOADING ANDUNLOADING) ORDER 2026 (A26-089)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Westwood and Jacksdale in the District of Ashfield
The effects of the Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road
Palmerston Street, Westwood - From its junction with Main Road, Jacksdale to its junction with Rutland Road, Jacksdale.
Main Road, Jacksdale - From its junction with New Westwood, Westwood to its junction with Church Hill, Jacksdale
2. Vehicles are prohibited from waiting, loading and unloading (both sides) (at all times) in the following length of road
Palmerston Street, Westwood - From its junction with Main Road, Jacksdale to its junction with Rutland Road, Jacksdale.
Main Road, Jacksdale - From its junction with New Westwood, Westwood to its junction with Church Hill, Jacksdale
3. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.
4. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.
IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows:
From 00:01, Monday 27th July 2026
Until 23:59, Monday 31st August 2026 inclusive.
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:
Barrows Hill Lane - Selston Road - Wagstaff Lane - and vice versa Brinsley Hill, Jacksdale - Brinsley Hill, Brinsley - High Street, Brinsley - Plainspot Road, Brinsley - Wilhallow Lane, Underwood - Flatts Lane, Bagthorpe and vice versa
The Order will come into force on Monday 27th July 2026 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).
The prohibition is required to enable Cadent Gas to carry out gas mains replacement works;
