What is happening?

NOTICE MAKING TOWN POLICE CLAUSES ACT 1847 THE THANET DISTRICT COUNCIL VARIOUS ROADS, RAMSGATE RAMSGATE TOWN CARNIVAL
TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2026 CLOSURE OF STREETS 

1. Notice is hereby given that the Thanet District Council has made an
Order under Section 21 of the Town Police Clauses Act 1847, the effect
of which is to prohibit (except upon the direction or with the permission of
a Police Constable in uniform) any vehicle from proceeding in the length
of streets specified in the schedule to this notice between the hours of
8:30am and 17:30pm on Sunday 26th July 2026 for a period of 9 hours.
2. Notices will be erected in the streets to enforce these requirements.
3. The penalty for infringement of the Order is a fine not exceeding £1,000.
4. If you have any questions concerning the Order or would like further
