Notice of Temporary Traffic Order

Oxford, Longwall Street

Prohibition of Through Traffic and Waiting

Date of Order: 20/7/2026

Coming into force: 27/6/2026

This Order is being introduced because of topographical and drainage survey works which are anticipated to take until 7/8/2026 to complete. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding or waiting in Longwall Street into Cross Road as far as Manor Road, working 20:00-06:00hours excluding weekends. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic is via High St, St Aldates, Thames St, Oxpens Rd, Hollybush Row, Hythe Bridge St, Worcester St, Beaumont St, St Giles’, Banbury Rd, Parks Rd, South Parks Rd, St Cross Rd, and vice versa. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T17912/JP)

Coming into force: 27/7/2026

This Order is being introduced because of crossing construction, carriageway resurfacing, installation of new gullies, lining and signing improvement which are anticipated to take until 9/8/2026 to be completed. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in the slip road parallel to the Eastern Bypass Road from the junction with Horspath Road (traffic lights) past Gate 5 of the BMW Mini plant. Exemptions are included for emergency vehicles, the Works and for access to property. Traffic will use the bypass carriageway. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T18307/JP)
