What is happening?

THE CITY OF SOUTHAMPTON (FOUNDRY LANE) (ROAD CLOSURE) (114/67) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in accordance with Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Southampton City Council intends to

make the above Order.

1. The effect of the Order will be to close the following roads:

a. Foundry Lane, between its junction with Heysham Road and Henry Road

b. Heysham Road, from its junction with Foundry Lane, eastwards for 50m

c. English Avenue, from its junction with Foundry Lane to 50m west of its junction with Imperial Avenue

d. Imperial Avenue, between its junction with Lemon Road and Kingsley Road.

2. The Order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road. These works are for carriageway patching.

3. The alternative route will be via Lordswood Road, Hill Lane, Winchester Road, Seymour Road or vice versa.

4. The Order will come into force on 20th July 2026 and has a maximum duration of 18 months or until the completion of the works, whichever is sooner. It is expected that the works will be completed by 27th September 2026.
