Millom Without - Extension of Temporary Footpath Closure for Electricity Pylon Works

CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (FOOTPATH NOS. 416019 AND 416073 IN THE PARISH OF MILLOM WITHOUT) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the above Order (“the Order”) made by Cumberland Council on 17 February 2026, which became operative on 23 February 2026, to enable the replacement of electricity cable pylons and associated works to be carried out and which would otherwise expire on 23 August 2026:
has been continued in force with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport until 23 February 2027.
The effect of the Order is to prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along the following lengths of Public Footpath:
- An approx. 356 metre length of Public Footpath No. 416019 in the Parish of Millom Without between Grid References 317315 484329 and 317395 483987; and
- An approx. 591 metre length of Public Footpath No. 416073 in the Parish of Millom Without between Grid References 317497 484360 and 317863 483992
There is no suitable alternative route available for pedestrians.
