Norfolk County Council in exercise of its powers under Sections 14(1), 14(2) and 15(8) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, hereby give notice that:
(i) THEY PROPOSE TO MAKE Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders in respect of the following roads:
GREAT AND LITTLE PLUMSTEAD – C874 Belt Road/Norwich Road/Reeves Corner from its junction with Primrose Corner for 3650m westwards to facilitate surface dressing works from 17th July to 3rd August 2026 (may continue until 13th September 2026). Alternative route is via: Plumstead Road, Thorpe End Drive, A1270 Broadland Northway, Salhouse Road, Norwich Road, Low Road, Primrose Corner (Salhouse, Woodbastwick, Rackheath, Great and Little Plumstead). The works promoter is Norfolk County Council. NB: These works will take place in phases: Phase 1 between 19:00 and 05:00 from 17th to 21st July 2026, Phase 2 between 19:00 and 05:00 from 20th to 23rd July 2026, Phase 3 between 19:00 and 05:00 from 30th July to 3rd August 2026.
GREAT YARMOUTH — King Street from its junction with Yarmouth Way for 100m southwards to facilitate chamber and sinkhole repair works from 5th to 8th July 2026 (may continue until 19th August 2026). Alternative route is via: Yarmouth Way, South Quay, Nottingham Way. The works promoter is Anglian Water.
HAINFORD — Chapel Road from its junction with Harvest Close to its junction with Wells Close to facilitate carriageway repair works on 14th July 2026 (may continue until 25th August 2026). Alternative route is via: Chapel Road, Newton Road, Dumbs Lane, Hall Road. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.
HELLESDON — Jupiter Road from its junction with A1042 Mile Cross Lane for 222m northwards to facilitate carriageway resurfacing works, the Road will be temporarily closed (except for pedestrian access) and traffic (constituting any class of vehicle) over the Road shall be temporarily prohibited to park, stop, load, and/or unload from 11th to 27th July 2026 (may continue until 7th September 2026). Alternative route is via: N/A. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council. NB: These works will take place in phases: Phase 1: between 19:00 and 05:00 from 11th to 13th July 2026. Phase 2: between 19:00 and 05:00 from 18th to 20th July 2026. Phase 3: between 19:00 and 05:00 from 25th to 27th July 2026.
HORSHAM AND NEWTON ST. FAITHS — Blind Lane from its junction with Old Norwich Road for 210m westwards to facilitate electricity pole replacement works from 16th to 18th July 2026 (may continue until 29th August 2026). Alternative route is via: Old Norwich Road, Crown Road, Church Street, West Lane, Blind Lane. The works promoter is UK Power Distribution.
LINGWOOD AND BURLINGHAM — Buckenham Lane from its junction with Norwich Road for 155m southwards to facilitate duct installation and cabling works from 13th to 15th July 2026 (may continue until 26th August 2026). Alternative route is via: Norwich Road, Buckenham Road, Buckenham Lane. The works promoter is CityFibre Metro Networks Ltd.
NORTH WALSHAM — C506 Station Road from 165m northwest of its junction with B1150 Norwich Road for 20m north-westwards to facilitate new water connection works from 13th to 15th July 2026 (may continue until 26th August 2026). Alternative route is via: B1150 Norwich Road, Millfield Road, Station Road. The works promoter is Anglian Water.
REEDHAM — Reedham Footpath 5 from its joining with Low Common for 800m eastwards to facilitate flood embankment repair works from 13th July to 27th November 2026 (may continue until 12th January 2027). Alternative route is via: N/A. The works promoter is Agency (Jacobs).
SMALLBURGH — C245 Union Road from 100m east of its junction with U19167 Workhouse Road for 30m eastwards to facilitate excavation of air valve and chamber replacement works from 17th to 21st July 2026 (may continue until 1st September 2026). Alternative route is via: Union Road, Anchor Street, High Street, Sloley Road, Front Street, Back Street, Honing Row, Dilham Road, Worstead Road, A149 Yarmouth Road (Sloley, Dilham, Smallburgh, Worstead, Tunstead). The works promoter is Anglian Water.
SWANNINGTON WITH ALDERFORD AND LITTLE WITCHINGHAM — Reepham Road from its junction with The Grove to its junction with Church Road to facilitate bellmouth entrance removal works from 13th to 19th July 2026 (may continue until 30th August 2026).
Alternative route is via: Reepham Road, Alderford Common, A1270 Broadland Northway, B1149 Brewery Lane/Holt Road, Buxton Road, Easton Way, Church Road, Norwich Road (Alderford, Felthorpe, Brandiston, Hevingham, Horsford, Stratton Strawless, Drayton, Booton, Little Witchingham, Cawston, Swannington, Haveringland, Attlebridge). The works promoter is VolkerFitzpatrick.
TUNSTEAD — U19066 Tunstead Road from 450m southeast of its junction with the B1150 Church Street for 200m south-eastwards to facilitate tree cutting works on 16th July 2026 (may continue until 27th August 2026). Alternative route is via: Tunstead Road, B1150 Church Street/North Walsham Road, Tunstead Road, Market Street, SCO Ruston Road, Tunstead Road (Sloley, Scottow, Tunstead). The works promoter is CityFibre Metro Networks Ltd.
WARHAM — C327 Wighton Road from 265m south of its junction with C313 The Street for 100m southwards to facilitate bridge parapet coping stone installation works from 13th to 17th July 2026 (may continue until 28th August 2026). Alternative route is via: C327 Wighton Road, C313 The Street, C586 Wells Road, C321 Copys Green, C327 Warham Road (Wighton, Warham). The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.
WITTON AND RIDLINGTON (NORTH WALSHAM) — C419 Well Street from 750m southwest of its junction with C636 Bacton Road for 400m south-westwards to facilitate pole testing works on 14th July 2026 (may continue until 25th August 2026). Alternative route is via: Well Street, Bacton Road, North Walsham Road, Old Hall Road, Bacton Road (Witton and Ridlington, Bacton). The works promoter is Openreach.

NB: For access to Church Lane, a diversion will be signed: Wood Lane, Church Road.
ATTLEBOROUGH — C137 West Carr Road from 37m northwest of its junction with U31385 Westfields for 50m north-westwards to facilitate pole replacement and cable rehanging works between 08:00 and 18:00 from 16th to 17th July 2026 (may continue until 28th August 2026). Alternative route is via: N/A. The works promoter is BT.
BANHAM — C142 Hunts Corner/Overcross from its junction with U33069 Hunts Corner for 1200m north-eastwards to facilitate trial holes and drainage works from 13th to 24th July 2026 (may continue until 4th September 2026). Alternative route is via: C142 High Starlings, C869 Kenninghall Road/Crown Street/Mill Road/New Buckenham Road, C142 Overcross. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.
BEDINGHAM — U76387 Willow Lane from 6m east of its junction with C366 Dulgate Road for 20m eastwards to facilitate new concrete headwall construction works from 13th to 15th July 2026 (may continue until 26th August 2026). Alternative route is via: Dulgate Road, Church Road, School Road, Willow Lane. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.
BEDINGHAM — C370 Chapel Road/Knaves Lane from its junction with C878 Hempnal Road for 280m southwards to facilitate fibre network installation works from 13th to 15th July 2026 (may continue until 26th August 2026). COSTESSEY — C171 Townhouse Road from its junction with C162 The Street for 528m eastwards to facilitate new electrical pole works from 14th to 15th July 2026 (may continue until 26th August 2026). Alternative route is via: Townhouse Road, Norwich Road, Dereham Road, Longwater Lane, West End. The works promoter is UK Power Networks.
COSTESSEY — A) C171 Norwich Road from its junction with A1074 Dereham Road for 50m northwards and B) C171 Norwich Road from its junction with U78267 Valley Road for 100m northwards to facilitate resurfacing works from 13th to 18th July 2026 (may continue until 29th August 2026). Alternative route is via: Norwich Road, Townhouse Road, West End, Longwater Lane, Dereham Road. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council. NB: These works will take place in phases. Phase 1: Road A between 19:00 and 05:00 from 13th to 15th July 2026. Phase 2: Road B between 19:00 and 05:00 from 16th to 18th July 2026.
EAST CARLETON AND KETTERINGHAM — C179 Scotts Hill from its junction with U78134 Spong Lane for 180m northwards to facilitate pole testing works between 09:30 and 15:30 on 15th July 2026 (may continue until 26th August 2026). Alternative route is via: Scotts Hill, Rectory Road, Catbridge Lane, Norwich Road, East Carleton Road (East Carleton, Mulbarton, Bracon Ash). The works promoter is BT.
EAST CARLETON AND KETTERINGHAM — C177 Catbridge Lane from its junction with C178 Intwood Lane for 300m eastwards to facilitate pole testing works between 09:30 and 15:30 on 16th July 2026 (may continue until 27th August 2026). Alternative route is via: Catbridge Lane, Norwich Road, East Carleton Road, Scotts Hill, Rectory Road (East Carleton, Mulbarton, Bracon Ash). The works promoter is BT.
HINGHAM — U78177 Dereham Road from its junction with U35178 Pittocks Lane for 450m southwards to facilitate pole testing works between 09:30 and 15:30 on 15th July 2026 (may continue until 26th August 2026). Alternative route is via: Dereham Road, Church Street, Market Place, Norwich Street, Norwich Road, Hingham Road, Station Road, Low Street, The Lings, Manson Green (Hingham, Hardingham, Garvestone, Reymerston and Thuxton, Deopham, Kimberley and Carleton Forehoe). LONG STRATTON — U76026 Church Lane from its junction with A140 Long Stratton Bypass for 92m northwards to facilitate drainage works from 13th to 22nd July 2026 (may continue until 2nd September 2026). Alternative route is via: Brick Kiln Lane, B1527 Hempnall Road, A140 Norwich Road/Long Stratton Bypass, Access to Church Lane from Brick Kiln Lane (Morningthorpe and Fritton, Long Stratton). SAXLINGHAM NETHERGATE — U78123 Chequers Lane from 210m north of its junction with U78126 The Green for 40m northwards to facilitate bagged headwall and pipe extension works between 05:00 and 17:00 on 17th July 2026 (may continue until 28th August 2026). Alternative route is via: Chequers Lane, Hall Lane, Church Hill, The Green. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.
SCARNING — U35148 Chapel Lane from 190m north of its junction with U35236 Soames Place for 158m eastwards to facilitate electric pole replacement works between 08:00 and 18:00 on 13th July 2026 (may continue until 24th August 2026). Alternative route is via: U35148 Chapel Lane, C470 Dereham Road, U36194 Dale Road, A47 and vice versa. The works promoter is UK Power Networks.
SNETTERTON — C826 Harling Road from 260m southeast of its junction with C828 Snetterton Interchange A11 for 100m south-eastwards to facilitate water connection works will be temporarily closed (except for pedestrian access) and The Norfolk County Council (Quidenham, Snetterton, Harling, Kenninghall, Banham and Old Buckenham) (7.5T Weight Restriction) Order 2003 shall be temporarily suspended insofar as it relates to the roads in the alternative route from 17th July to 2nd August 2026 (may continue until 13th September 2026). Alternative route is via: Clockwise: C826 Harling Road/Snetterton Interchange A11, C138 Road from Snetterton to Old Buckenham, C153 Station Road/Quidenham Road, C154 Quidenham Road, C155 Eccles Road. Anti Clockwise: C155 Eccles Road, C154 Quidenham Road, C153 Quidenham Road, Station Road, C138 Road from Snetterton to Old Buckenham, C828 Snetterton Interchange A11 Southbound, C826 Harling Road (Quidenham, Snetterton, Harling). The works promoter is Anglian Water.
WATTON — A) U33148 Harvey Street from its junction with B1108 High Street for 35m north-eastwards and B) U33148 Harvey Street from 35m northeast of its junction with B1108 High Street for 465m eastwards and C) U33450 Dereham Road from its junction with U33148 Harvey Street for 123m eastwards to facilitate carriageway repair works from 13th to 17th July 2026 (may continue until 28th August 2026). While the Order is in place traffic (constituting any class of vehicle) over the Road A shall be prohibited; traffic (constituting any class of vehicle) over the Roads B and C shall be temporarily subject to the suspension of the one-way system (east bound) to allow vehicles to travel in both an easterly and westerly direction; traffic (constituting any class of vehicle) over the Roads B and C shall be temporarily prohibited to park, stop, load, and/or unload. Alternative route for Road A is via: U33148 Harvey Street, U33450 Dereham Road, A1075 Cadman Way, B1108 High Street and vice versa. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.
WORTWELL — C361 Low Road from 220m south of its junction with C571 High Road for 700m south-westwards to facilitate fibre network installation works from 13th to 31st July 2026 (may continue until 11th September 2026). Alternative route is via: Low Road, Mendham Low Road, Mendham Lane, A143 Harleston Bypass/Bungay Road, High Road (Redenhall with Harleston, Wortwell). The works promoter is CityFibre.
WRENINGHAM — U78011 Hethel Road from its junction with C186 Wymondham Road for 100m southwards to facilitate roundabout works from 14th July to 18th September 2026 (may continue until 18th March 2027). Alternative route is via: Hethel Road, Church Road, Norwich Road, Wymondham Road. The works promoter is Jackson Civil Engineering.
WYMONDHAM — U78330 Bridge Road from its junction with C186 Wymondham Road for 50m southwards to facilitate roundabout works from 14th July to 18th September 2026 (may continue until 18th March 2027). Unless otherwise stated, the effect of these Orders will be to prohibit the use by traffic of the named road(s)/footpath(s). In the event of the start date being delayed the new start date will be displayed on site in advance. Where an Order is for a reason other than works it is because of the likelihood of danger to the public or of serious damage to the road/footpath. Anticipated dates are stated but the Orders may continue until the end date where necessary or required. The Orders are revoked on the end date or on the actual date of removal of the prohibition/restriction where earlier without further notice. If necessary, the restrictions can have a maximum duration of 18 months or 6 months in respect of footpaths, cycle tracks, bridleways, restricted byways, and byways open to all traffic (BOAT), but may also be extended further by the Secretary of State.
Penalty: £1000 maximum fine on conviction and/or endorsement for contravention.
