What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026 HEADS LANE, HESSLE

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing any vehicle to proceed along Heads Lane, Hessle (north) between Boothferry Road and Jameson Keep and Heads Lane, Hessle (south) between Boothferry Road and Conisbro Croft to enable resurfacing works. The reason for the closure is to enable the proposed resurfacing works to be carried out and completed in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of the public. It is anticipated that the works will be completed by Wednesday 12 August 2026.

The alternative route for traffic affected by the Order is via:
FOR NORTH via Boothferry Road, Beverley Road, Tranby Lane and Jenny Brough Lane and vice versa for eastbound traffic and Boothferry Road, A164, Tranby Lane and Jenny Brough Lane for westbound traffic. FOR SOUTH via Boothferry Road and Ferriby Road and vice versa.

The road will be closed to all through traffic but remain open at all times to pedestrians and for vehicular access to properties directly affected by the closure and for emergency services. The Order will commence Monday
27 July 2026 (between 19.00 hours and midnight) nightworks only and continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
