Devonshire Road - Temporary Road Closure Due To Utility Works

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (DEVONSHIRE ROAD, BARROW-IN-FURNESS) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along that section of Devonshire Road, Barrow-in-Furness, from its junction with the U6150, extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 65 metres.

A suitable alternative route for all traffic will be signed and available via the unrestricted section of Devonshire Road, Walney Road (A590), U6304, Park Road, Schneider Road and the U6150.

The Order will come into operation on 3rd August 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 3 weeks and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
