What is happening?

The Council of the City of Salford intends to make in no less than 7 days under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984: SALFORD CITY COUNCIL (SWINTON HALL ROAD) TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026.

The Order will introduce a road closure on Swinton Hall Road, in both directions, between the junctions of Bridge Street/Park Street to the junction of Stanley Road, Swinton, M27 4UB. The Order is necessary for United Utilities to repair the sewer and build a new manhole and chamber in the carriageway to access the sewer. The order is due to come into operation on the Monday 10th August 2026 and will last for a period of 18 months or until the works are completed if earlier. The works are expected to be completed by Sunday 30th August 2026. The road is scheduled to be closed on the dates 10/08 - 16/08, 23/08 and 30/08. The diversion routes are via:

• A666 Bolton Road - B5231 Station Road, vice versa (10/08 - 16/08 and 23/08).
• Worsley Street - Victoria Avenue - Cherry Drive - Milner Street - Pendlebury Road (30/08).
