THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT (WELLINGTON ROAD NORTH, HEATON NORRIS) (TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF BUS LANE) NOTICE 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport proposes to make an Order not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which will be to introduce a Temporary Suspension of the northbound bus lane at Wellington Road North, Heaton Norris, from approximately 85 metres south of the junction with Stitch Lane to approximately 35 metres north of the junction with Stitch Lane, whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said roads.
This Order is necessary to allow sewer replacement works to take place. It is estimated these works will last 4 weeks. No diversion will be provided. This Order is to come into operation on 27 July 2026 and will have effect for eighteen months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
