What is happening?
WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (U5147, BARDSEA AND C5036, SWARTHMOOR AND GREYSTONE LANE, GLEASTON AND C5009, BROUGHTON-IN-FURNESS) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of the; U5147, Bardsea, from its junction with the A5087, extending in a north westerly direction for a distance of approx. 110 metres.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the U5147, C5038 and the A5087.
Duration: From 28th July 2026 for approx. 4 days

C5036, Swarthmoor, from its junction with the U5124, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 100 metres.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C5036, A590 and Seg Lane.
Duration: From 17th August 2026 for approx. 10 days

Greystone Lane, Gleaston, from a point approx. 275 metres north of its junction with the C5031, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 115 metres.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of Greystone Lane, Long Lane, Ulverston Road and the C5031.

C5009, Broughton-in-Furness, from a point approx. 285 metres north west of its junction with the A595, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 110 metres.
Eastbound Traffic Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C5009, Kepplewray Hill, Station Road, Prince’s Street, Griffin Street, Church Street, A593 and the A595.
Westbound Traffic Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C5009, A595, A593, Church Street, Griffin Street, Market Street and Kepplewray Hill.
