Winston Churchill Avenue - Temporary Suspension of Bus Lane Restrictions

Portsmouth City Council (Winston Churchill Avenue) (Temporary Suspension of Bus Lane Restrictions) (No.123) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 29th July 2026 and the effect will be as follows:
A) TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF BUS LANE RESTRICTIONS
WINSTON CHURCHILL AVENUE (EASTBOUND)
From opposite Hornbeam House to 20 metres past its junction with Blackfriars Road.
B) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate Openreach works.
C) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 29th July 2026 to 31st July 2026 or completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Notwithstanding the above, works will take place between Wednesday to Friday 19:00 - 05:00.
D) DIVERSION
Vehicles will be diverted into the bus lane.
Pedestrian access will be maintained around the works.
Cycles to follow vehicle diversion around the works.
