(FILMING FOR THE BAY, HORROBIN LANE, RIVINGTON, CHORLEY BOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Lancashire County Council have made an Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit any motor vehicle (except for event participants) from proceeding over that length of Horrobin lane, Rivington from its junction with New Road to just before the access road to Rivington Primary School.
Alternative routes for vehicular traffic and cyclists affected by the closure is via:-
New Road, Rivington Lane, A673 Bolton Road, Lever Park Avenue, Rivington Lane and vice versa.
Access will be maintained via marshal points for residents and businesses.
The Police, Fire and Ambulance Services have been informed.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to enable the Filming of the series The Bay.
The prohibition will be operative from 1800 hours on Thursday 20th July until 0300 hours on Friday 21st July 2026 or until completion of the works within this period.
