HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:

(TEMPORARY 30MPH SPEED RESTRICTIONS ON A41 NORTH WESTERN AVENUE, WOODSIDE) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from being driven at a speed exceeding 30mph on that length of A41 North Western Avenue, Woodside from its junction with the A41 The Dome roundabout north westwards for a distance of approximately 760m (“the Road”), when signs are in place.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 27 July 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 5 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF GALLOWS HILL AND GALLOWS HILL LANE, ABBOTS LANGLEY) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”):

  1. that length of Gallows Hill, Abbots Langley from a point in line with the southern boundary of No.81 Gallows Hill north westwards for a distance of approximately 70m.

An alternative route will be via Gallows Hill, Hamilton Road, Hunton Bridge Hill, South Way, Langley Lane, Tibbs Hill Road, High Street and Gallows Hill.

  1. that length of Gallows Hill Lane, Abbots Langley from its junction with Gallows Hill north eastwards for a distance of approximately 76m.

An alternative route will be via Gallows Hill, Hamilton Road, Hunton Bridge Hill, Bridge Road, A41 Watford Road, A4251 (Watford Road/High Street), Church Lane, Water Lane, Station Road and Gallows Hill.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order will come into effect from 27 July 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 3 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE NORTHBOUND LOWER HIGH STREET SLIP ROAD LEADING ONTO A411 EXCHANGE ROAD, WATFORD) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the northbound Lower High Street slip road leading onto A411 Exchange Road, Watford from its junction with Lower High Street south westwards to its junction with A411 Exchange Road, a distance of approximately 58m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via Lower High Street and A411 (Waterfields Way/Beechen Grove/Exchange Road).

The Order is needed because telecom works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 27 July 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 1 day to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access:-

  1. that length of Holland Gardens, Watford from its junction with A412 St Albans Road south westwards and north westwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.

  1. that length of Newhouse Crescent, Watford from its southernmost junction with Horseshoe Lane south westwards, north westwards and north eastwards for a distance of approximately 684m.

An alternative route will be via Horseshoe Lane.

  1. that length of Villiers Road, Watford from its junction with Upper Paddock Road Watford to its junction with 95 Villiers Road, a distance of approximately 13m.

An alternative route will be via Upper Paddock Road, Lower Paddock Road and Villiers Road.

  1. that length of Earl Street, Watford from its junction with Loates Lane north westwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.

  1. that length of Greycaine Road, Watford from its westernmost junction with Bushey Mill Lane north eastwards, south eastwards and south westwards for its entire length.

    6. that length of Purbrook Avenue, Watford from its junction with Fellowes Close north westwards and clockwise for its entire length.

    7. that length of Sarratt Lane, Sarratt from its junction with Loudwater Lane south westwards and north westwards to its junction with Solesbridge Lane, a distance of approximately 1450m.

    An alternative route will be via Loudwater Lane, Sarratt Lane and Solesbridge Lane.

    8. that length of Sarratt Road, Sarratt from its junction with Solesbridge Lane south eastwards, north eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with The Green, a distance of approximately 3072m.

    An alternative route will be via Solesbridge Lane, Sarratt Lane and Loudwater Lane.

    9. that length of Spring Gardens, Watford from its junction with A412 St Albans Road north westwards and clockwise for its entire length.

    There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.

    The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

    The Order will come into effect from 27 July 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 1 day to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

      NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Elfrida Road, Watford from its junction with Lammas Road south eastwards for its entire length (“the Road”), except for access.

      There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.

      An alternative route will be via A4178 Cassio Road, Marlborough Road, A411 Exchange Road and Upton Road or via Upton Road, A411 (Exchange Road/Beechen Grove), A412 (St Albans Road/Rickmansworth Road) and A4178 Cassio Road.

      (TEMPORARY CLOSING AND WAITING RESTRICTIONS ON GALLOWS HILL LANE, ABBOTS LANGLEY) ORDER 2026

      NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Gallows Hill Lane, Abbots Langley from its junction with Hazelwood Lane north eastwards to its junction with High Street, a distance of approximately 512m (“the Road”).

      An alternative route will be via Gallows Hill Lane, Gallows Hill, Hamilton Road, Hunton Bridge Hill, South Way, Langley Lane, Tibbs Hill Road and High Street.

      ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of Road, whilst works are in progress.

      The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

      The Order will come into effect from 27 July 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 15 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

      1. that length of Culverden Road, South Oxhey from its junction with Embleton Road north eastwards and north westwards for its entire length.

      An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the south west side of Deans Close, the footway situated on the south east side of Broomfield Rise, Abbots Langley Public Footpath No.071 and the footpath fronting Nos.54–68 Hazelwood Lane.

      NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicles from waiting, loading and unloading at any time on both sides of the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), when signs are in place:-

      1. that length of Cassiobury Park Avenue, Watford from its junction with A412 Rickmansworth Road north westwards, south westwards and north westwards to its junction with Gade Avenue, a distance of approximately 1007m.

      2. that length of Gade Avenue, Watford from its junction with A412 Rickmansworth Road north westwards, north eastwards, north westwards and north eastwards for its entire length.

      3. that length of Swiss Avenue, Watford from its junction with Cassiobury Park Avenue south westwards to its junctions with Gade Avenue, a distance of approximately 318m.

      4. that length of Shepherds Road, Watford from its junction with A412 Rickmansworth Road north westwards to its junction with Cassiobury Park Avenue, a distance of approximately 295m.

      The purpose of the Order is to ensure public safety and prevent accidents for the duration of the ‘Taste of the Caribbean’ event.

      The Order will come into effect from 11 July 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The event is scheduled for 1 day and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.
