ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14 (1)
TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE
FRIARS LANE, RICHMOND.

- The Council of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate telecom works, they have made a temporary Traffic Order, the effect of which will be to introduce a temporary prohibition of traffic in Friars Lane, Richmond.
- Whilst the work takes place no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed, wait or stand in Friars Lane, Richmond from the junction with Retreat Road to a point outside the White Cross Public House Riverside.
- An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via King Street, Maids of Honour Row, Portland Terrace, Duke Street, The Square, Eton Street, Paradise Road, Red Lion Street.
- The order will come into effect 14 July 2026. These works are anticipated to be in progress from 14 July to 16 July 2026. The order will remain in force for a period of 18 months, to allow for unexpected events and possible remedial works.
- The prohibitions apply only during such time and to such extent as indicated by prescribed traffic signs.
- Nothing in the Order applies to:
(a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works or any public service or utility vehicle;
(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform or a civil enforcement officer; or
(c) any vehicle being used for Police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes.
- Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

NOTICE OF VARIATION TO OFF STREET PARKING CHARGES

- The Council of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames hereby gives notice under section 35C of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 that revised car parking charges will come into effect on 30 July 2026.
- The revised charges for pay and display car parks are set out in Schedule 1 below for the parking places affected by the changes together with the existing charges.
- The revised charges for multi-storey car parks are set out in Schedule 2 below for the parking places affected by the changes together with the existing charges.
- The revised charges for residents’ quarterly season tickets are set out in Schedule 3 below for the parking places affected by the changes together with the existing charges.
- The revised charges for businesses’ quarterly season tickets are set out in Schedule 4 below for the parking places affected by the changes together with the existing charges.
