Hove and Portslade - Temporary Road Closures and Turning Restrictions due to Gas Mains Work

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ORDER – OLD SHOREHAM ROAD, HANGLETON ROAD, HOVE AND BOUNDARY ROAD, PORTSLADE
1. NOTICE is hereby given that Brighton & Hove City Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order pursuant to powers in Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended which when it comes into force will have the following effect:-
a) The temporary westbound closure of Old Shoreham Road, at it’s junction with Hangleton Road, Hove and Boundary Road, Portslade.
b) The temporary northbound closure of Boundary Road, Portslade, at it’s junction with Old Shoreham Road.
c) The temporary southbound closure of Hangleton Road, Hove, at its junction with Old Shoreham Road.
d) The temporary prohibition of the left hand turn from Old Shoreham Road onto Boundary Road, Portslade.
e) The temporary prohibition of the right hand turn from Boundary Road, Portslade, onto Old Shoreham Road.
f) The temporary prohibition of the right hand turn from Hangleton Road onto the Old Shoreham Road.
2. The Order is necessary to allow contractors to carry out gas mains replacement.
3. Pedestrian access will be maintained, and a signed diversion route will be in place for vehicular traffic.
4. This Order comes into force on 3 August 2026 for eighteen months or until such sooner time as the works are completed, which is anticipated to be 1 September 2026.
