THE A62 TRUNK ROAD (GILDERSOME INTERCHANGE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited intends to make an Order on the A62 Trunk Road, in the City of Leeds, to enable replacement of signal heads, poles, controllers, cabinets, cabling, access chambers and associated infrastructure works to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to start at 8pm on Monday 3 August 2026 for 20 weeks, or until completed.
The effect of the Order will be to close, for 24 hours a day, at times during the works, the;
(i) A62 Gelderd Road northbound and southbound carriageways between the exit and entry points at Gildersome Northern Roundabout, a distance of 95 metres; and
(ii) un-segregated footway/cycle track adjacent to the A62 Gelderd Road southbound carriageway between the exit and entry points at Gildersome Northern Roundabout, a distance of 95 metres;
During the closures suitably signed alternative routes will be available.
Traffic signs will indicate the extent of the prohibitions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the said works, to anyone engaged in the said works, or for winter maintenance or traffic officer purposes). The Order comes into force on 2 August 2026 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.
