THE A1 TRUNK ROAD (A1/A47 WANSFORD INTERCHANGE TO WOTHORPE, CITY OF PETERBOROUGH) NORTHBOUND
(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 202_
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited(a) intends to make an Order on the A1 Trunk Road in the City of Peterborough to enable carriageway resurfacing works to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to take place over approximately 6 months starting on, or after, Monday 3 August 2026.
The effect of the Order on the A1 would be to impose, for 24 hours daily, a speed limit of 50 miles per hour on the northbound carriageway from the exit slip road at A1/A47 Wansford Interchange to the entry slip road at Wothorpe, including the northbound –
• exit and entry slip roads at A1/A47 Wansford Interchange,
• exit slip road at Racecourse Road, Easton on the Hill,
• exit and entry slip roads at Carpenters Lodge Junction, and
• entry slip road at Wothorpe.
All lay-bys adjacent to the A1 northbound carriageway described above would be closed for 24 hours daily for the duration of the works.
The Order would come into force on 27 July 2026 and may continue in force until the works detailed above have been completed, or for a maximum duration of eighteen months, whichever is the earlier.
