The A4 GLA Side Road (Sutton Court Road, London Borough of Hounslow) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic And Stopping) Order 2026

1. Transport for London in consultation with the London Borough of Hounslow hereby give notice that it intends to make the above named Traffic Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 for the purpose specified in paragraph 2. The effect of the Order is summarised in paragraph 3.

2. The purpose of the Order is to enable gas main maintenance works to take place on the A4 GLA Side Road – Sutton Court Road in the London Borough of Hounslow.

3. The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any vehicle from:

(1) entering or proceeding in a northerly direction on Sutton Court Road between its junctions with Cedars Road and Barrowgate Road;

(2) turning right from Ellesmere Road westbound carriageway into Sutton Court Road;

(3) turning in any other direction than left from Sutton Court Road northbound at its junction with Cedars Road/ Ellesmere Road;

(4) stopping on Sutton Court Road between its junctions with Cedars Road and Barrowgate Road;

The Order will also:

(5) suspend the western footway of Sutton Court Road between its junction with Cedars Road and the extended northern building line of Chiswick Methodist Church, Sutton Court Road.

Works will be phased as such that not all restrictions may apply at any one time.

The Order will be effective at certain times from 7:00 AM on 27th July 2026 until 7:00 PM on 14th August 2026 or when the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. The prohibitions will apply only during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

4. The prohibitions will not apply in respect of:

(1) any vehicle being used for the purposes of those works or for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes;

(2) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a person authorised by Transport for London.

5. At such times as the prohibitions are in force alternative routes will be indicated by traffic signs. For eastbound traffic via Ellesmere Road, Great West Road, Hogarth Lane, Hogarth Roundabout, Dorchester Grove, Chiswick Lane, Chiswick High Road and Heathfield Terrace to normal route of travel. For westbound traffic via Cedars Road, Great West Road, unnamed westbound off-slip road to Chiswick Roundabout, Chiswick Roundabout, unnamed eastbound on-slip road to Great West Road and Cedars Road and continue on eastbound diversion to normal route of travel.
