THE BARNET (FREE PARKING PLACES, LOADING PLACES, WAITING, LOADING AND STOPPING RESTRICTIONS) (AMENDMENT NO.304) ORDER 2026
THE BARNET (PRESCRIBED ROUTE) (NO. 4) TRAFFIC ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Barnet have made on 9th July 2026 the above-mentioned Orders under Sections 6 to the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 and all other enabling powers.
In order to improve traffic flow, improve access to local buses at and improve road safety, the general effect of the Order will be to introduce lengths of waiting restrictions operating at ‘At any time’ at the following locations below:
(a) At the junction of Lawrence Garden and Lawrence Street NW7 and at the junction of Lawrence Street and Highwood Hill NW7.
(b) Around Island side of Highwood Hill and Lawrence Street NW7
(c) On the southwest side of Highwood Hill between Haycroft and the junction with Lawrence Street NW7.
(d) On the northwest side of Lawrence Street NW7, between the junction with Lawrence Gardens and Highwood Hill.
(e) On the southeast side of Lawrence Street NW7 from a point approximately 6.5 metres northeast of a point in line with the southwest kerbline of Holcombe Hill to a point approximately 16.5 metres southwest of the southwest kerb line of Holcombe Hill.
The general effect of the prescribed route order will be to prohibit vehicles from entering the southeast arm of Lawrence Street from a point in line with the northeast arm wall of Two Roofs, Lawrence Street NW7.
Copies of the Orders, which will come into operation on Thursday 23rd July 2026 and the Council’s Statement of Reasons for making the Orders can be obtained, for a period of 6 weeks from the date on which this notice is published, by emailing parking.consultations@barnet.gov.uk or by writing to the Design Team, Highways Section, 2 Bristol Avenue, Colindale, London NW9 4EW.
Any person wishing to question the validity of the Orders or any of their provisions on the grounds that they are not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or any regulations made there under have not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks of the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
