TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)
Notice is hereby given that the City Council intends, in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s):
ORDER NO. MCC 151128871 : The City of Manchester (North Western Street, Fairfield Street & Travis Street, Piccadilly Ward) (Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2026 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on North Western Street from Fairfield Street to Coronation Square, on Fairfield Street from St Andrew Street to Temperance Street & on Travis Street from Sheffield Street to Fairfield Street.
The alternative routes for traffic will be: signed locally. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate Bridge inspection/Repairs. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 27th July 2026 to 27th August 2026 between the hours of 22:00 and 06:00 (Night Shifts).
The order shall come into operation on 27th July 2026 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
ORDER NO. MCC 150717918 : The City of Manchester (Milk Street, Deansgate Ward) (Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2026 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Milk Street Junction with York Street. The alternative routes for traffic will be: York Street, Fountain Street, Marble Street, Spring Gardens. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate Refurbishment of Browns Hotel. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 27th July 2026 to 17th May 2027. The order shall come into operation on 27th July 2026 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
