Notice is hereby given that, in not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice, the Council intends to make Orders under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Common Ln, Appleton (Prohibition of Driving) Temporary Order 2026

The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving on Common Ln from its jct. with Northwich Rd for a distance of 100m in an easterly direction. The Order will be effective from 7th August 2026 for 1 day. The alternative route will be via Northwich Rd, Well Ln, Common Ln & vice versa. The closure is required to allow Scottish Power to replace a transformer.

Cotswold Pl (Footway Closure) Temporary Order 2026

The effect of which will be to introduce a footway closure on Cotswold Pl from its jct. with Cotswold Rd to its jct. with Lancing Ave. The Order will be effective from 27th July 2026 for 1 week. The alternative route will be via Cotswold Rd, Poplars Ave, Lancing Ave & vice versa. The restrictions are required to allow Scottish Power to install new service connections.

The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving on Hampson Ave from its jct. with Warrington Rd to its jct. with Kaye Ave. The Order will be effective from 10th August 2026 for 3 weeks. The alternative route will be via Hampson Ave, Newchurch Ln, Warrington Rd & vice versa. The closure is required to allow Cadent Gas to carry out mains replacement works.

The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving on Havisham Cl outside property numbers 5 to 17. The Order will be effective from 3rd August 2026 for 3 days, between 9:30am & 2:30pm. The closure is required to allow for Openreach to install a new service connection.

The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving on Hobb Ln from its jct. with Chester Rd to the Borough Boundary with Halton. The Order will be effective from 4th August 2026 for 1 day. The alternative route will be via Chester Rd, Runcorn Rd & vice versa. The closure is required to allow Scottish Power to carry out tree cutting works near to their overhead power cables.

The alternative route will be via Southworth Ln, Smithy Ln, Lord St, Mustard Ln, Wigshaw Ln, Common Ln, Warrington Rd, Birchwood Park Ave, Birchwood Way & vice versa & via Myddleton Ln, Golborne Rd, Newton Rd, Winwick Rd, Lythgoes Ln, Manchester Rd, Woolston Grange Ave, Birchwood Way & vice versa. The closure is required to allow for the construction of a new traffic island.

The effect of which is to introduce a prohibition of driving & clearway as follows:

Bridgewater Ave for its entire length; From Bridgewater Ave for 50m along the following lengths of road: Brindley Ave; Worsley Ave; Brook Ave; Bowman Ave; Mort Ave.

The Order will be effective from 3rd August 2026 for 8 weeks, between 8:30am & 5pm in school holidays & between 9:30am & 3:30pm outside of school holidays. The alternative route will be via Kingsway Sth, Richmond Ave, Whitley Ave, Barrymore Ave, Mort Ave & vice versa. The closure is required for carriageway resurfacing.

The alternative route will be via Whinchat Dr, Swallow Cl, Fieldfare Cl & vice versa. The closure is required to allow Openreach to install a new service connection.

The effect of which is to introduce the following:

Prohibition of Driving & Clearway:

Entire lengths of road: Maple Gr; Marbury St; Park Ave;

Part length of road: Cumberland St from the jct. with Grove St to the jct. with Oxford St;

Minerva Cl from property no. 25 to No. 31;

Salter St from the jct. with Grove St to the jct. with Florence St;

Wilderspool Cswy from the jct. with Loushers Ln to The Saracens Head Public House.

The Order will be effective from 3rd August 2026 for 9 weeks, between 8:30am & 5:30pm.

The alternative routes will be as follows:

• Cumberland St via Shrewsbury St, Oldham St & Grove St or via Grove St & Oxford St;

• Maple Gr via Birch Gr, Beech Gr, Park Ave & vice versa;

• Marbury St via Kent St, New Rd, St. Marys St & vice versa;

• Park Ave via St. Marys St, Shrewsbury St, Salter St, Carol St, Knutsford Rd & vice versa;

• Salter St via Park Ave, Knutsford Rd, Grove St & vice versa.

The restrictions are required for footway surfacing.

The effect of which is to introduce a prohibition of driving on West Ave from its jct. with London Rd to its jct. with Egerton St. The Order will be effective from 19th July 2026 for 1 day. The alternative route will be via London Rd, Walton Rd & Kimberley Dr. The closure is required to allow Openreach to carry out cable recovery works.

The temporary restrictions will be in place as & when the signs are in place on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works.
