HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BENINGTON ROAD, ASTON) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Benington Road, Aston from its junction with Aston End Road north eastwards to its junction with Stringers Lane, a distance of approximately 178m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Broadwater Lane, Gresley Way, B1037 Stevenage Road, High Street, Benington Road, Walkern Road and Benington Road.

The Order is needed because duct laying works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 24 July 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 4 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF ASHANGER LANE, CLOTHALL) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Ashanger Lane, Clothall from a point 170m north east of its junction with Hickmans Hill south westwards for a distance of approximately 100m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Ashanger Lane, A507 Clothall Road, South Road, B197 London Road, Chalk Hills, Hatch Lane, Green End and Ashanger Lane.

The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing telegraph pole is proposed to be executed near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 25 July 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 2 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Arundel Close, Aston from its junction with Aston End Road south westwards for its entire length (“the Road”), except for access.

There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 28 July 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 7 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Letchworth Lane, Letchworth Garden City from its junction with St Marys Close north westwards for a distance of approximately 100m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Letchworth Lane, Willian Road, Baldock Lane, A505 (Letchworth Gate/Baldock Road) and Letchworth Lane.

The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing telegraph pole is proposed to be executed near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 27 July 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 2 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND WAITING RESTRICTIONS ON STOTFOLD ROAD, RADWELL) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Stotfold Road, Radwell from its junction with Caldecote and Newnham Public Footpath No.004 south westwards for a distance of approximately 945m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via Stotfold Road, Caldecote Road, Ashwell Road, Newnham Way, Hinxworth Road, Ashwell Road, New Inn Road and A1 (unnamed road) or via A1 (unnamed road), A507 Great North Road, Newnham Road, Caldecote Road and Stotfold Road.

ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of Road, whilst works are in progress.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 28 July 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 4 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE SERVICE ROAD FRONTING NOS.193-251 CAMBRIDGE ROAD, HITCHIN) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the service road fronting Nos.193-251 Cambridge Road, Hitchin from its junction with A505 Cambridge Road north westwards and north eastwards to its junction with Millard Way, a distance of approximately 168m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via A505 Cambridge Road and Millard Way.

The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing gas main is proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 27 July 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 26 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Sollershott East, Letchworth Garden City from its junction with A505 Baldock Road north westwards and south westwards to its junction with the Broadway/Spring Road roundabout, a distance of approximately 550m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via A505 (Baldock Road/Hitchin Road) and Broadway or via A505 Baldock Road, Field Road, Souberie Avenue and South View.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 13 July 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 3 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

An alternative route will be via B656 (London Road/Hitchin Road/High Street/Codicote Road/Link Road/Church Street), A1000 Welwyn Bypass Road, B197 (Welwyn Bypass Road/Digswell Hill/Great North Road), B653 (Brocket Road/Marford Road/Cory Wright Way/Codicote Road), B651 (Lamer Lane/Ballslough Hill/High Street/Hitchin Road/Horn Hill/High Street/Whitwell Road) and B656 London Road.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 14 July 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 1 day to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Lilley Bottom, Lilley from its junction with Chalk Hill south eastwards for a distance of approximately 15m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via Lilley Bottom, Hollybush Hill, Luton Road, High Street, Kings Walden Road, Hoo Lane, C25 (unnamed road), 5U128 (unnamed road) and Lilley Bottom.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 13 July 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 2 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.
