What is happening?

Temporary Traffic Management Order of Slyers Lane, Waterston

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 6 July 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 17 July 2026. Works will take place between 0900 and 1600.

This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out essential highway maintenance works.

The effect of this Order will be:

[1] To impose a temporary road closure on Slyers Lane, Waterston from a point 120m north of the access to the Enterprise Park at Piddlehinton to a point approximately 2650 metres to the south

[2] To impose a temporary clearway on Slyers Lane, Waterston from a point 120m north of the access to the Enterprise Park at Piddlehinton to a point approximately 2650 metres to the south to prevent vehicles from stopping.

Please note that any vehicle waiting in contravention of temporary parking restrictions may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986. If a vehicle has been removed, the owner must contact the Council’s vehicle recovery contractor: Ashleywood Recovery Ltd/Bride Valley Recovery Ltd on 01305 889421.

A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.

Temporary Traffic Management Order

Various Roads, Purbeck (For Camp Bestival, 2026 Event)

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The Order is needed in order to comply with Health and Safety Regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will be in operation from 23.59 hrs on Monday 27 July 2026 till 23.59 hrs on Monday 3 August 2026, a period of 7 days. This Order will allow for the safe management of traffic while the Camp Bestival event takes place at Lulworth Castle, East Lulworth. The effect of this Order is as follows:

[A] From 23.59hrs on Monday 27 July 2026 till 23.59hrs on Monday 3 August 2026, a period of 7 days to:

[1] Impose a temporary 20 mph speed limit upon the B3070 between the 30 mph speed limit signs either side of the village, a distance of approximately 1,000 metres.

[2] Impose a temporary 30 mph speed limit upon the B3070 from Botany Farm westward towards East Lulworth to the deregulation signs, a distance of approximately 700 metres.

[3] Impose a temporary 30 mph speed limit along the “Military Bypass”, from its eastern junction at the B3070 to the B3071 (Burngate Junction), a distance of approximately 4,000 metres.

[4] Impose a temporary 40mph speed limit on the B3071 from Wool to the junction of the B3070.

[5] Impose a clearway on the B3070 between the existing clearways, Botany Farm to the junction with Whiteway, a distance of approximately 1700 metres.

[6] Impose a clearway on the B3071 between Burngate junction and the junction with New Buildings Road, a distance of approximately 3,250 metres.

[7] Impose a clearway on the C48, Coombe Keynes Road between its junction with the B3070 (The Triangle) and Manor Yard, Shaggs, a distance of approximately 1,100 metres.

[8] Impose a temporary pedestrian prohibition on the B3070 from the White Gates at the entrance to Lulworth Castle to the Burngate junction (B3071), a distance of approximately 2,250 metres.

[9] Impose a temporary 30mph speed limit upon the C48, Coombe Keynes road between the B3071 and the B3070, a distance of 3,800 metres.

[B] Between 07.00hrs on Thursday 30 July 2026 and 17.00hrs on Sunday 2 August 2026, a period of 3 days and 10 hours,

[1] Impose a temporary one-way system on New Buildings Road, between Number 6, Burton Cross and the B3071 (one-way southbound), a distance of approximately 2,000 metres.

[C] Between 07.00hrs and 20:00 on Thursday 30 July 2026, a period of 13 hours,

[1] Impose a temporary no right turn off the A352 Wareham Road onto the B3070.

[D] From 17.00hrs on Sunday 2 August 2026 until 15.00hrs on Monday 3 August 2026, a period of 22 hours, to:

[1] Impose a temporary one-way system on New Buildings Road, between Number 6, Burton Cross and the B3071 (one-way northbound), a distance of approximately 2,000 metres.

[E] From 07.00hrs till 15.00hrs on Monday 3 August 2026, a period of 8 hours, to:

[1] Impose a temporary one-way system on Holme Lane, between its junction with West Lane and the B3070 (one way eastbound), a distance of approximately 3,500 metres.

Temporary Closure of Various Footpaths

East Lulworth & Coombe Keynes

For Camp Bestival, 2026

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All pedestrians will be prohibited from proceeding along the following footpaths, from 23.59hrs on Sunday 26 July 2026 until 23.59hrs on Tuesday 4 August 2026. The Order is made to allow the Camp Bestival (music festival) event site to be secured whilst it is established, during the event, and afterwards whilst the site is being dismantled.

[a] Footpath 4, Coombe Keynes from grid ref. SY 8499 8388 to grid ref. SY 8351 8318, a distance of approximately 2,200 metres;

[b] Footpath 2, East Lulworth, from grid ref. SY 8590 8173 to grid ref. SY 8617 8204, a distance of approximately 360 metres;

[c] Footpath 3, East Lulworth, from grid ref. SY 8541 8185 to grid ref. SY 8577 8201, a distance of approximately 560 metres.

Alternative routes will be signposted around the closures of Footpath 4, Coombe Keynes and Footpath 2, East Lulworth using the local highway network. No alternative route will be signed for the closure of Footpath 3, East Lulworth as this footpath leads to the church, which will be closed for the duration of Camp Bestival. Access for emergency vehicles will still be allowed.

The County of Dorset, Various Roads, Dorset - 30mph, 40mph and 50mph Speed Limit Orders 202*

Dorset Council proposes to make Orders under the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 as amended.

The effect of the Orders will be to formalise the existing 30mph, 40mph and 50mph speed limits along sections or entire lengths of various roads in Colehill, Shaftesbury, St Leonards and St Ives, Verwood and Weymouth. No changes to the existing speed limits on the ground are proposed; the Orders are for administrative updates only.

Temporary Closure of Radipole Lane,

Weymouth

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along RADIPOLE LANE, WEYMOUTH from its junction with Mount Pleasant Avenue North for a distance to the south of approximately 285 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 27 July 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 21 August 2026.

This Order will enable Scotia Gas Networks, safe access to upgrade gas main.

An alternative vehicular route will be signed using; Radipole Lane - B3159 - A354 - B3157 - Radipole Lane.

[5] To impose temporary road closure on Bakers Paddock for its entirety.

[6] To impose temporary clearway on Broadmead cul-de-sac section for its entirety to prevent vehicles from stopping.

[7] To impose temporary clearway on Rectory Road for its entirety to prevent vehicles from stopping.
