TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDERS
Notice is hereby given that the Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council propose to make the following Traffic Regulation Orders in accordance with the provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
(DOWNSFIELD ROAD, HAWTHORN ROAD AND POPLAR ROAD) (ONE WAY) ORDER 2026
The effect of the Order will be to:
Introduce a one-way system on the following lengths of road:
The entire length of Downfield Road in an Easterly direction from Clivedon Road to Hawthorn Road.
Hawthorn Road from its junction with Downsfield Road to the junction of Poplar Road in a South Westerly direction.
The entire length of Popular Road in a Westerly direction from Haw-thorn Road to Clivedon Road.

All objections and other representations relating to the Orders must be made in writing to the undersigned by 30th July 2026 and objections must specify the grounds on which they are made. ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC
TR023492 – Hoole Lane in Chester
Notice is hereby given pursuant to the provisions of Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 that the Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit/restrict traffic on the following length of road in to Chester to enable Signals Improvements works to be carried out by Colas Ltd (CWAC).
HOOLE LANE: Hoole Lane – between its junction with A51 Boughton and the medical centre entrance.
Nothing in the Order shall prevent driving upon the said lengths of road of any vehicle which is being used for the conveyance of persons goods or merchandise to or from any premises situate on or adjacent to the lengths of road or in connection with agriculture building construction works of repair and the like or use in an emergency of vehicles for fire brigade ambulance or police purposes. A through route will not always be available and any vehicles not requiring access to properties on the length of road should use the alternative routes.
The Order will come into force on 13/07/2026 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that the works will take approximately 8 weeks to complete.
Alternative routes for through traffic – Traffic should proceed via: Hoole Lane, Lightfoot Street, A56 Hoole Road, A56 Hoole Way, A5268 St Oswalds Way, A51 Boughton, and vice versa.
