Roads Surrounding Sail GP - Temporary Road Closure
What is happening?

Portsmouth City Council (Sail GP) (Temporary Road Closure) (Temporary Prohibition of Waiting and Loading) (No.119) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14.1(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 25th July 2026 and the effect will be as follows:-
A) TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE AND PROHIBITION OF WAITING AND LOADING
CLARENCE ESPLANADE
From its junction with Serpentine Way to its junction with The Dell.
JACK COCKERILL WAY
In its entirety.
AVENUE DE CAEN
In its entirety.
VICTORIA AVENUE SPUR
(For vehicle removal operations)
In its entirety.
B) TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE (SOUTHBOUND ACCESS ONLY)
SERPENTINE WAY (NORTHBOUND)
In its entirety.
C) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate the Sail GP event.
D) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 06:00 on 25th July 2026 to 21:00 on 26th July 2026 or completion of the event, whichever is sooner.
E) DIVERSION
Vehicles will be diverted from Avenue de Caen - Clarence Parade - Jack Cockerill Way - South Parade and vice versa and Clarence Parade - Serpentine Way (southbound only) - Clarence Esplanade.
Pedestrian access will be maintained around the event.
Cycles to follow vehicle diversion or dismount and follow pedestrian diversion around the event.
