REVOCATION OF EXPERIMENTAL LOADING RESTRICTIONS
FITZHERBERT ROAD
1. Portsmouth City Council hereby gives Notice that on 13 July 2026 it made the following Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984:
The Portsmouth City Council (Fitzherbert Road)(Loading Restrictions) (Experimental Order 2025) (Revocation) Order 2026
2. The effect of the Order, which comes into operation on 15 July 2026, will be to:
a) Revoke in full The Portsmouth City Council (Fitzherbert Road)(Loading Restrictions) Experimental Order 2025.
b) Reinstate the waiting restrictions previously in force on Fitzherbert Road prior to the introduction of the Experimental Order.
3. The experimental scheme was introduced to address unsafe and anti-social parking activity associated with nearby commercial operations. These issues have now been resolved, and the scheme is no longer required.
4. Copies of the Revocation Order, Statement of Reasons and plan showing the affected roads are available to view on Portsmouth City Council’s website: Search ‘Traffic Regulation Orders 2026’ at

5. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order, or of any of its provisions, on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any requirement of the Act or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with, may within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order is made apply for that purpose to the High Court.
