READING BOROUGH COUNCIL

NOTICE PURSUANT TO SECTION 123(2A)

OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT 1972

(AS AMENDED)

NOTICE is hereby given in accordance with section 123(2A) of the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended) that Reading Borough Council intends to dispose by way of the grant of a lease of an area of land at Palmer Park, Wokingham Road, Reading which is held as public open space.

The proposed grant of lease of the land is to Cornerstone Telecommunications Infrastructure Limited for use for telecommunications apparatus including a cabinet and a 20 metre high street works pole.

A plan identifying the land to be disposed of can be inspected on the Council’s website searching ‘Public Notices and Compulsory Purchase Orders’.

Any objections to the proposed lease must be made in writing and addressed to the Assets Management Section, Reading Borough Council, Civic Offices, Bridge Street, Reading RG1 2LU (quoting reference “Palmer Park Telecoms”) and received no later than 12 noon on 31 July 2026. If anyone requires further information, please email assets.management@reading.gov.uk

The Council will consider any objections received in writing at its next available Policy Committee.
