What is happening?

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (OLD LAKE ROAD, AMBLESIDE AND C5072, LEASGILL AND A592 STORRS) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following sections of road:-

Old Lake Road, Ambleside, from its junction with Lake Road (A591), extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 45 metres.

Alternative Route: via Lake Road (A591), Wansfell Road, Rothay Road (A593), Kelscik Road (A591), Lake Road and Old Lake Road.

Duration: From 28th July 2026 for approx. 1 day (Ref: TTROW/I/9392)

C5072, Leasgill, from its junction with Princes Way (A6), extending in a southerly direction for approx. 345 metres.

Alternative Route: Via the unrestricted section of the C5072 and Princes Way (A6).

Duration: From 31st July 2026 for approx. 1 day (Ref: TTROW/I/9442)

A592, Storrs, from its junction with Birks Road, extending in a northerly direction for approx. 120 metres.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the A592, A591 and the A590.

Duration: From 2nd September 2026 for approx. 1 day (Ref: TTROW/I/9410)

The Order will come into operation on 28th July 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
