(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 222) 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds to complete repairs & painting to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: School Lane, Walton, near number 4 at the Network Rail bridge. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of School Lane.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Greenside, Shay Lane, School Lane & vice versa.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 30th July 2026 to 31st July 2026 between 22.00 hours to 05.00 hours or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(BRANDY CARR ROAD, KIRKHAMGATE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 225) 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds for resurfacing works to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Brandy Carr Road, Kirkhamgate full length from Batley Road to Bradford Road. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Brandy Carr Road.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Batley Road, Wrenthorpe Lane, Wrenthorpe Road, Bradford Road & vice versa.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 27th July 2026 to 30th August 2026 between 08.00 hours to 18.00 hours, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(APPLEHAIGH LANE, NOTTON)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 226) 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds for gas mains replacement works to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Applehaigh Lane, Notton from Number 4 to the junction with George Lane. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Applehaigh Lane.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: George Lane, The Green, Applehaigh Lane & vice versa.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 28th July 2026 to 26th August 2026 or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times and access to properties maintained when safe to do so.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(HILL TOP ROAD, NEWMILLERDAM)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 227) 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds for works to repair a highway defect in the carriageway to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Hill Top Road, Newmillerdam opposite number 35. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Hill Top Road.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Barnsley Road, Chevet Lane, Lodge Lane & vice versa.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 27th July 2026 between 09.30 hours to 17.00 hours, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 229) 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds for resurfacing works to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Park Mill Lane, Flushdyke full length junction of Batley Road to junction of A638 Wakefield Road. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Park Mill Lane.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Batley Road, Flanshaw Lane, Dewsbury Road, Wakefield Road & vice versa.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 27th July 2026 to 31st August 2026 between 08.00 hours to 18.00 hours, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
