What is happening?
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(VARIOUS ROADS, MANSFIELD) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2026 (M26-115)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Mansfield in the District of Mansfield The effects of the Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road:
a. Albion Street, Mansfield - from its junction with Chesterfield Road South for a distance of 30 metres in a south-westerly direction
b. Mount Street, Mansfield - From its junction with Chesterfield Road South for a distance of 30 metres in a south-westerly direction
c. West Bank Avenue, Mansfield - for its junction with Chesterfield Road South for a distance of 30 metres in a northeasterly direction
2. Vehicles are prohibited from waiting, loading and unloading in the following length of road:
a. Chesterfield Road South, Mansfield (Both Sides)(At All Times) - from its junction with Crow Hill Drive to its junction with Little Debdale Lane
3. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.
4. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.
IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows: From Monday 27th July 2026 Until Friday 2nd October 2026 inclusive.
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:
a. Cannon Street - Mount Street - Vice Versa
b. Cannon Street - Albion Street - Vice Versa
c. Haddon Road - A60 - Chesterfield Road South - Vice Versa
The Order will come into force on 27th July 2026 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).
The prohibition is required to enable Cadent to carry out gas mains replacement works;
