CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (AMPTHILL TO MAULDEN BYPASS, AMPTHILL) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Ampthill to Maulden Bypass, Ampthill at the A507 Footbridge.
This temporary closure is required to enable bridge painting work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 3 to 14 August from 0900-1530hrs. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via A6, A421, A507 and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 3 August 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (SILVER END ROAD, HAYNES) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Silver End Rd, Haynes outside number 36.
This temporary closure is required to enable new water connection work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 3 to 7 August 2026. The road will be closed at all times during this period. The alternative route for this closure is via Northwood End Rd, A600 and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 3 August 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the following roads/lengths of road in Ampthill:-
a) Dunstable Street at the jct with Woburn Street and Woburn Street at the jct with Dunstable St
b) Saunders Piece from s/o no 19 to jct with Lea Road, Chiltern Close at the jct with Saunders Piece and Queens Road at the jct with Saunders Piece.
c) Queens Road at the jct with Oliver Street and Oliver Street from Houghton Close to jct with Queens Road.
These temporary closures are required to enable gas main replacement work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place on the dates shown below
a) From 20 to 31 July 2026 for 24hrs a day
b) From 27 July to 14 August for 24hrs a day
c) From 10 to 28 August for 24hrs a day The roads will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative routes for these closures, where available, are:-
a) Woburn St - B530, A507 Flitwick Rd/Dunstable Street. Dunstable St – Church St, Ampthill Rd, Flitwick Rd, A507, Flitwick Rd
b) Lea Road, Brinsmade Rd, Church Avenue, Church St, Dunstable St, Baker St
c) Neotsbury Rd, Dukes Road, Queens Road, Saunders Piece, Baker St, Dunstable St, Oliver St
The Order will come into operation on 20 July 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (WEATHERCOCK LANE, ASPLEY GUISE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Weathercock Lane, Aspley Guise between Russell Street and Station Road.
This temporary closure is required to enable carriageway, and footway works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 21 July to 14 August 2026. Between the hours of 0800 and 1800. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route will be via Aspley Hill, High St, Station Rd and vice versa.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of West End, Haynes outside Woodside.
This temporary closure is required to enable air valve inspection and repair works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 21 to 23 July 2026. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route will be via Haynes West End, A6 and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 21 July 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL PROPOSES TO INTRODUCE NO WAITING AT ANY TIME ON POPPY DRIVE, GLEBE ROAD AND FLITWICK ROAD, AMPTHILL
Reason for proposal: For avoiding danger to persons or other traffic and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising and for facilitating the passage of traffic on the roads or any other roads of any class of traffic (including pedestrians). More specifically, the waiting restrictions are intended to address indiscriminate parking and to ensure that junctions are not obstructed by parked vehicles.
Effect of the Order:
To introduce No Waiting at any time on the following lengths of road in Ampthill:-
1. Glebe Road, both sides, from the junction with Flitwick Road, extending in a south easterly direction for approximately 17 metres.
2. Flitwick Road, east side, from the junction with Glebe Road, extending in a north-easterly direction for approximately 10 metres.
3. Flitwick Road, east side, from the junction with Glebe Road, extending in a south-westerly direction for approximately 10 metres.
4. Poppy Drive, both sides, from the junction with Flitwick Road, extending in an easterly direction for approximately 10 metres.
5. Flitwick Road, east side, from the junction with Poppy Drive, extending in a north-easterly direction for approximately 10 metres

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (PULLOXHILL: PART OF FOOTPATH NO. 16) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Order made by Central Bedfordshire Council on 9 January 2026 the effect of which will be to prohibit any person proceeding on foot along the length of Footpath No. 16, Pulloxhill which extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 0613 3350 to OS GR TL 0624 3364 has been continued in force with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport until 16 January 2027.
This temporary closure is required to enable landscaping and construction works to be carried out as part of granted planning permission 24/02993/Full. The closure is expected to take place from 16 July 2026 for up to six months.
The alternative route for footpath users while the closure is in operation extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 0613 3350 along the property boundary to OS GR TL 0614 3353 then continues along the property boundary to a kissing gate at OS GR TL 0616 3352 then continues to OS GR TL 0624 3364.
