(Canaan lane) (Temporary road restriction and Traffic regulation) order 2026 – Temp/26/104The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be that for a temporary period, to facilitate a safe area for pedestrians, no person shall except upon the direction or with the permission of a police constable in uniform, cause or permit any motor vehicle to enter into, remain, or proceed in or on any part of Canaan la, from 120m south of the extended south kerbline of Newbattle Ter, southwards for 12m. The alternative route for through vehicular traffic in relation to the prohibition of motor vehicles will be way of Canaan La, Newbattle Ter, Morningside Rd and Canaan La. The Order shall come into operation on 10/07/26 and shall remain in force for a period of time exceeding 18 months.
